Meet Kristopher Ulley! He has lived in Penticton for almost two years!

Who is your favourite person to spend time with and why?
My favourite person to hang out with is Sarah Mayes, my girlfriend. She's my best friend and comes on many of my adventures with me.

What is your favourite local store in Penticton and why?
The Bike Barn is awesome because I am often mountain biking to scout potential landscapes to shoot.

Describe yourself in one word.
Adventurous.

If you could go anywhere in the world right at this moment where would you go and why?
I'm heading to Costa Rica this Winter for the volcano, rainforests and wildlife.

What is your favourite activity in Penticton?
Hiking, biking and fishing share the top spot.

What is the most embarrassing thing that has happened to you?
Flipping my fishing boat while taking a pee and having to swim to shore.

What is the most inspiring thing that has happened to you?
Witnessing my Mother, Denise Reichert's journey in her later years becoming an amazing Okanagan artist (painter)

Tell us your favourite childhood memory.
Was catching my very first Spring salmon at age nine with my Uncle Fred in Terrace.

Where do you volunteer or give back to in the community?
I have volunteered at the SPCA in Kelowna walking dogs and getting them ready for adoption.

If you could change one thing in the world what would it be?
More environmental sustainability.

Where would you sneak away to in Penticton to spend some time alone?
Mountain Biking up the KVR Trail through Naramata.

Where would you like to see positive change in Penticton and why?
Higher paying jobs for the people of Penticton to live and enjoy their lives here.

What do you think makes Penticton great?
All the natural beauty of the area so close to enjoy.

What are 3 things on your bucket list?
1. To catch a sailfish in a Tropical location
2. To see more cultures and visit more countries (like Japan, Ireland/Scotland/U.K and Bali)
3. To work as a full-time, self-employed Okanagan photographer

Tell us something that not everyone may know about you.
I have a passion for cooking and am a major foodie.

How do people connect with you, personally, through social media?
Instagram and Facebook.

What is the name of your business/organization?
Kristopher Ulley Photography.

Why did you get into/start this business?
I felt it was time to follow what I'm passionate about: the outdoors, nature and the beauty of the Okanagan.

What is the goal of your business?
To create stunning pieces of art for people to enjoy in their homes or businesses.

What has been your biggest struggle either at work or in life?
To generate income from doing the things that I love!

If you could start all over again would you do things the same or would things be different?
I'd have started my photography business much earlier in life.

What do you always find yourself saying?
"Let's find somewhere new to explore!"

Tell us your best piece of life advice.
Follow the things that make you happy even if it's at the expense of your bank account.

If you could spend one whole day with anyone in the world who is currently alive, who would you select?
I would love to spend time with any of the photographers that work for National Geographic, that would be so inspiring!

Why do you think it is important to shop locally?
To help support our local economy.

What has been your proudest accomplishment?
The day I sold my first print was great validation that I have a strong future in this industry.

Sarah Mayes has been a wonderful partner who is always supportive and helpful in my quest to generate income from my passions.
