Doggy daycare burglarized during Easter long weekend

Canine Campus in West Kelowna is open for business, but without the majority of its inventory after a break-in during the long weekend.

Business owner Teri-Lynn Mulders says she was at home Saturday morning when workers she had hired to extend the daycare’s outdoor dog run over the weekend called to say the place had been ransacked.

“I feel so violated, they took about everything they could get their hands on. I’ve calculated about $8,000 worth of inventory,” said Mulders.

“The cash register, store laptop, the printer, a variety of retail dog stuff including toys and food as well as business administration equipment like our debit squares.”

While the office door had been pried open, Mulders says police found no evidence of forced entry into the building.

“I purchased the business from the previous owners after being a long standing employee,” explained Mulders.

“The locks had recently been changed and I had no reason not to trust the previous owners.”

She believes someone may have a key that she’s not aware of.

Despite the break-in, Canine Campus remains open and Mulders is asking the public to keep an eye out for products such as Pet Chef dog food, True Leaf Hemp products and Kong Doggy Toys.

A GoFundMe has been set up for Canine Campus, check it out below.
